All processing happens in your browser — the very photo you're trying to protect is never uploaded to any server.

Pixelate or blur — which should I use?
Pixelation replaces the area with large solid squares, the safest choice for making text or a face unreadable. Blur looks more subtle and suits backgrounds — if the data is sensitive, use a strong blur or pixelate instead.
Can someone recover what was hidden?
The effect is baked into the pixels before export: the original information no longer exists in the downloaded file. Strong pixelation over short text remains the most robust option; avoid very light blurs.
When should I blur a photo before publishing?
Whenever it shows recognizable people without their consent, license plates, addresses, screens or documents. Privacy laws like the GDPR apply to images on websites too, and bystanders have image rights.
Does the image lose quality?
No — outside the masked areas, pixels are untouched. The image is re-encoded in its original format at high quality, with the same dimensions.
