Frequently asked questions
Why doesn’t my image show up when I share my link?
Most common causes: the og:image tag is missing, the image URL is relative instead of absolute, the image is too small (under 200 × 200 px it is often ignored), or the server blocks the crawler. This tool checks the tag and measures the real image to pinpoint the cause.
What size should an Open Graph image be?
1200 × 630 pixels is the recommended format — it renders as a large card on Facebook, X and LinkedIn. Below 600 × 315 px, some networks fall back to a small square thumbnail that gets far fewer clicks.
I fixed my tags but the network still shows the old preview. Why?
Social networks cache link previews. Use their refresh tools — Facebook’s Sharing Debugger or LinkedIn’s Post Inspector — to force a re-crawl of your page after making changes.
Do I still need Twitter tags if I already have Open Graph?
X falls back to Open Graph tags, but twitter:card is still worth adding: it lets you choose the format (large image vs. summary). Without it, your link may render as a small, easy-to-miss card.
