How are words counted?
Any run of characters separated by spaces or punctuation counts as one word — the same logic word processors use. Numbers and hyphenated words each count as a single word.
How is reading time estimated?
At 200 words per minute, the average silent reading speed for adults. For reading aloud, plan on 130–150 words per minute instead.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Counting happens live on your own device: your text is never transmitted, stored or analyzed anywhere outside the page.
How long should a meta description or social post be?
