Frequently asked questions
What does a Word file reveal about its author?
The name of the original author and of the last person who modified it, the company registered in Office, the manager, total editing time, the number of revisions, and the creation and last-saved dates. Enough to work out who actually wrote the document, where, and how long it took.
Are tracked changes and comments removed?
No. This tool clears the file’s properties, not its content: tracked changes and comments live inside the body of the document. Before sharing, accept or reject the revisions and delete the comments directly in Word, Excel or PowerPoint.
Which formats are supported?
The modern Office formats: DOCX for Word, XLSX for Excel and PPTX for PowerPoint. The legacy binary formats (DOC, XLS, PPT) are not supported — save the file to the modern format first in Office or LibreOffice.
Is the content of my documents changed?
No. Text, tables, formulas, slides and formatting remain strictly identical: only the file’s properties are blanked.
